Summer Blessings, Part 2 ~ Air Conditioning!!

Air conditioning is something I really consider a Summer Blessing! I am a wimp when the temperature goes up into the 80's. Seriously! When the humidity rises with it, I'm a goner! lol!!
I just don't "do" heat.
So having a cool, comfortable space to do some stitching is a great way to get through these kinds of summer days that are just too uncomfortable to be outside.
Sharing some pictures with you of a project I am working on.
I just finished my second Snowman block for my Winter Wonderland quilt.

So what  projects have you been working on this summer?

My Favorite Summer Blessings, Part 1 ~ Strawberries

My birthday is in the month of June, so I guess it's fitting that strawberries are my favorite fruit. Here in Wisconsin, strawberries are ripe in June. When I was a child, my mom made me angel food cake topped with fresh picked strawberries and whipped cream for my birthday cake :) Some years my birthday was even celebrated with a picnic lunch out by the strawberry fields after we picked. Fond memories.

Last year I was blessed to be living up on the farm and was able to pick from the old strawberry patch. Even though it had been neglected for years, the strawberries was still producing. Small, but oh so sweet!

And .. of course, nothing go better with strawberries then rhubarb!

So, even though I did not make it out to the strawberry fields to do my own picking this year, I did visit my local farm stand and brought home a tray of beautiful, hand picked locally grown strawberries! The aroma and sight of  hand picked "ripe" Wisconsin grown strawberries is a blessing itself, but the taste cannot be compared to anything you ever buy in a store.
It is definitely a Summer Blessing.

Happy Thanksgiving

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Not what we say about our blessings,
but how we use them,
is the true measure of our thanksgiving.
~W.T. Purkiser

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~George Herbert

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
For all the blessings that we have,
may we be truly grateful to God.
And ... as always ~

March Snowstorm

We are enjoying a beautiful Winter Wonderland ... at last! It's been a very mild, "snowless" winter in my corner of the world, until ... March came in like a lion with 2 major snowstorms so far! lol!! With the sun shining today, I had to get more pictures ~ soooo beautiful!!
Hope all of you are doing well, whatever your pre-spring weather may be. As for me, I am enjoying the late Winter Wonderland beauty for as long as it lasts :)
